About Us

The Manawatū Māori Business Network is also known as ‘Te Au Pakihi' which means ‘pathways for Māori business' and our tohu (logo) represents the region in terms of the ranges and rivers that run through the Manawatū. The river is a source of sustenance for Māori, and is also a place of gathering and the maunga (mountains) represent the pursuit of excellence while acknowledging our Māori identity/heritage. This is what we hope Te Au Pakihi will provide.

Te Au Pakihi started as an informal network of local Māori business people at various stages of their ‘business' lifecycle who attended the inaugural business breakfast hui in 2007

The Network is still in its infancy, and we are always looking to extend the network to include any Māori individual or group with business aspirations or ideas.
